No Way Out for Republicans


For more than a decade, I’ve thought the Republican Party was headed towards oblivion.

That’s not a partisan position. As I wrote in early 2016, George W. Bush broke the coalition — national security hawks, Wall Street Republicans and evangelical Christians — that allowed the GOP to win a solid majority of voters during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush years.
