The Phoenix Suns’ season came to a disheartening end on Sunday night, as they got swept out of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
There was no denying that it was a bad night and head coach Frank Vogel spoke frankly about his feelings.
“There’s no worse professional feeling in the world than getting swept in the NBA playoffs. I’ve never been a part of it. I feel pretty low right now,” Vogel said, via Gerald Bourguet and Legion Hoops.

This was Vogel’s first season as coach of the Suns, but will it be his last?
He earned a 49-33 record in 2023–24, earning the sixth spot in the Western Conference.
Although he was able to improve some of the team’s defensive problems, there were many other things that weren’t fixed by Vogel during the season.
Then, things came crashing down in the playoffs, as Vogel and his team didn’t have any answers for Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves.
Being swept is always going to sting, but it’s going to hurt Vogel and his team even more because of the potential of the Suns.
Over the last year, Phoenix has added Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and a few other choice players in hopes of being the best team in the Western Conference.
They were envisioned as contenders for the Finals and now they didn’t even make it out of the opening round.
Now the Suns have to sit with these negative feelings for the next few months, thinking of how they can make more adjustments to give them a better shot in 2024–25.
Will this be a low point for the team or will things get even worse when the new season kicks off in the fall?
