It’s not uncommon to see Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics become frustrated with referees – that is something that just happens when playing in the NBA.

However, it is uncommon to see him receive multiple technical fouls and be ejected from a game.

But that is exactly what fans of the Celtics witnessed on Monday night, as Tatum got two techs and received his first career ejection as the game came to an end.

Following the game, Tatum opened up about what led to his ejection, as seen in the tweet below.

Tatum said that he got the first T because of what he considered a “no call”: “It was clearly a foul.”

But Tatum’s night ended when he gave the ref some sarcasm following another call he was unhappy about.

“I just told them this was probably the best officiated game I’ve been a part of,” Tatum said with a sly smile.

The New York Knicks gave the Celtics a hard time all night long and eventually walked away with a big 109-94 win over Boston, which is their sixth in a row.

Before his ejection, Tatum was experiencing a few problems with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

He was just 6-of-18 from the field.

Those numbers are below his usual output, which surely only added to his frustration throughout the game.

Most of the best NBA stars have been ejected at least once so Tatum is in good company now that he has been kicked out of a game.

But it’s clear that he wasn’t just upset about how the refs were calling the game but how he was performing in it.
