This house, which is on the market for the first time in 40 years, is in a historic district in the Casa Grande neighborhood, where many of the homes date to the early 20th century. It is about a mile from Pasadena High School and Victory Park, which has baseball fields and a recreation center with an indoor gym. The Rose Bowl Stadium and the Los Angeles County Arboretum, in Arcadia, are about 10 minutes away.

Griffith Park is a 15-minute drive. Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood Burbank Airport are about half an hour away.

Size: 1,456 square feet

Price per square foot: $872

Indoors: A path crosses the front lawn to a Saltillo-tile porch, where an original wood door opens directly into the living room.

This space has a coved ceiling, a fireplace topped by a simple wood mantel and an arched doorway leading to a dining room with an original wrought-iron chandelier and built-in cabinets.

A breakfast room, currently used as a home office, separates the dining room from a kitchen with original Saltillo-tile floors, sage-green cabinetry, quartz counters and a pantry with backyard access and space for a washer and dryer.

All three bedrooms are off a hallway extending from the living room. The primary bedroom, at the back of the house, has original hardwood floors, French doors that open to a covered patio, and an en suite bathroom with penny-tile floors. The bedroom next door is big enough to hold a full-size bed and a desk. The third bedroom, at the front of the house, is next to a bathroom with a combined tub and shower.

Outdoor space: The patio off the primary bedroom is covered by a wood pergola. The backyard beyond is landscaped with mature trees and includes a central brick planter and a second, larger patio. The detached garage holds two cars; there is room to park more in the gated driveway.

This house, which is being sold fully furnished, is in the Summit neighborhood, close to popular hiking trails. It is less than a 15-minute drive from the breweries, boutiques and restaurants of Lake Arrowhead Village, and 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead Country Club, which has an 18-hole golf course.

The ski resorts of Big Bear Lake are about an hour away. Driving to Los Angeles or Irvine takes about 90 minutes.

Size: 3,402 square feet

Price per square foot: $382

Indoors: A wood deck links the driveway to the front door, which opens into a foyer with hardwood floors.

The wood flooring continues into an open living space with high ceilings, a sitting area anchored by a sleek fireplace, and sliding-glass doors that offer access to the deck and views of the mountains in the distance. There is room for a dining table between the sitting area and the updated kitchen, which has open shelving and a white-tile backsplash.

A powder room and a home office are off the living area, and a large game room with a fireplace and access to the deck is down the hall.

All five bathrooms are on the lower level, reached from stairs in the foyer. The primary bedroom has sliding-glass doors that open to the lower deck and an en suite bathroom with a deep soaking tub and a walk-in shower. At the other end of the hall is a guest room with another en suite bathroom. In between are three more bedrooms, one currently used as a recreation room. They share a bathroom with a glass-walled shower. A closet off the hall holds a stacked washer and dryer.

Outdoor space: The deck off the top level of the house is surrounded by mature trees and is big enough to hold a grill and dining furniture. The lower-level deck also has ample space for entertaining. The attached garage holds two cars. Lake rights come with the house.

It is also about 10 minutes from several shopping centers, a Trader Joe’s and a Target. A public high school is about five minutes away. Sweetwater Summit Regional Park, a popular spot for fishing and horseback riding, is less than 15 minutes away.

Driving to San Diego State University takes less than 15 minutes. Downtown San Diego is about 20 minutes away.

Indoors: The house sits behind a circular driveway, with gated stairs leading up to a long covered porch.

The front door opens directly into a living room with wood ceiling beams, built-in bookshelves and a white-painted brick fireplace. The dining room beyond has a midcentury-modern-style starburst chandelier and glass doors that open to a patio and the pool area.

The dining room connects to an updated kitchen with white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and a wine refrigerator, and a window above the sink overlooking the pool.

The primary bedroom, a recent addition off the living room, has enough space for a king-size bed and several built-in cabinets.

The other three bedrooms are off a hallway extending from the opposite side of the living room; one is set up as a combined guest room and office. Two full bathrooms are in this part of the house. One has a new vanity and original green tile lining the combined tub and shower; the other has a walk-in shower, bookcase-print wallpaper and a floating vanity.
