Analyst Says He Has ‘No Doubt’ 1 NBA Team Will Be In Finals

17 June 2010: Guard Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers speaks to the media with the Bill Russell Finals MVP Trophy after the Lakers defeat the Boston Celtics 83-79 and win the NBA championship in Game 7 of the NBA Finals at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA.

The Boston Celtics currently have the best record in the NBA, and it’s not even close.

Joe Mazzulla’s team has been able to rest their starters every now and then, as they have their sights set on the playoffs already.

That’s why they didn’t seem too worried after blowing a 30-point lead to the struggling Atlanta Hawks to put an end to their nine-game winning streak.

Also, not even that epic meltdown was enough to convince Tim Legler that they’re not the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.

In his most recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, the former player predicted that the Celtics would represent the East in the NBA Finals.

He stated that there’s absolutely no doubt that Joe Mazzulla’s team would win the East, even though he also acknowledged the fact that the Milwaukee Bucks have been able to close the gap as of late.

Still, Legler isn’t so sure about the Celtics’ chances to finish the job in the NBA Finals.

He stated that he doesn’t see them as a clear-cut favorite against the Denver Nuggets, adding that there are some other teams in the Western Conference that are ‘very interesting’ and could give this team some trouble.

Truth be told, the Celtics should make it to the NBA Finals; they were built for that.

It would be hard to justify keeping Joe Mazzulla on board — or even keeping Jaylen Brown alongside Jayson Tatum — if they fail to get the job done again this season.

This team has won one ring since the Larry Bird era, and it’s about time they get over the hump.
