Analyst Calls Out Jets HC Over Zach Wilson

Zach Wilson will once again be the New York Jets’ starting quarterback, after the now-departed Tim Boyle started their last two games, when they host the Houston Texans this weekend.

Ever since future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1, Wilson has had to command the team’s offense, and as he did in the previous two seasons, he has struggled in many facets of the game.

It is beyond obvious the former No. 2 overall pick simply doesn’t have star potential, and most feel he doesn’t have any excuses.

But Emmanuel Acho said on FS1’s “Speak” that head coach Robert Saleh and the rest of the organization deserve some blame for consistently telling Wilson that he is a bad player and not helping him prepare right.

Wilson has completed 59.2 percent of his passes and thrown six touchdown passes and seven interceptions this season, which is only marginally better than he did in his first two years.

He simply hasn’t realized any of the potential he displayed during his final season at Brigham Young University when he had a 73.5 percent completion rate and registered 33 touchdown passes against just three interceptions.

As a result, the Jets this season rank at or near the bottom of the league in many offensive categories.

In late October, they had a 4-3 record and perhaps a glimmer of hope they could make the playoffs, but it turned out to be a mirage, as they have lost five in a row since and now hold a 4-8 record.
