The release of MLB The Show is something that baseball fans wait in anticipation for at the start of every year.

For context, MLB The Show is the leading baseball video game that is released prior to each season every year.

The game was originally just for PlayStation, but has since expanded to Xbox and other platforms.

Today is also a day that fans have been looking forward to, as we finally got the chance to see who will be on the cover of the game.

This year, it is Miami Marlins star and now-center fielder Jazz Chisholm.

On Twitter, MLB The Show released a cover of the game featuring Chisholm on the front.

A release date for the game has yet to be announced, but as seen on the front cover, pre-orders will open on Monday, February 6.

Those who pre-order the game typically receive early access.

While the game is officially released on a Tuesday in early spring, those who pre-order get access on the Friday before.

This will likely be the case in 2023 as it has been in years past.

Chisholm joins a long list of stars who have been on the cover of MLB The Show.

Miguel Cabrera, Ken Griffey Jr. Josh Donaldson, Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, Javier Baez, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Shohei Ohtani are some of the recent players who have been lucky enough to grace the cover of the game.

The game has consistently been lauded for being one of, if not the most realistic baseball video game.
