Watch: Inside Lebanon’s ghost towns after Israeli strikes


In many southern Lebanese villages, there are no signs of life. People have fled, leaving towns deserted.

Israel has been carrying out strikes on southern Lebanon almost daily since Hezbollah – the powerful Lebanese Shia Islamist group – fired rockets at Israel on 8 October in support of Hamas in Gaza, triggering an escalating series of attacks and counter-attacks.

The spiralling tensions and cross-border strikes have killed more than 70 civilians in Lebanon.

The BBC’s Carine Torbey visits an area destroyed by the attacks and gets as close as possible to the Israeli border wall.
