Mel Kiper Jr. Reveals What Giants Should Do At No. 6

The New York Giants seem to be in rebuilding mode after losing star running back Saquon Barkley to the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency this offseason.

There have been rumors they now want to move on from quarterback Daniel Jones, even though they gave him a lucrative contract extension a year ago.

But NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. feels that instead of perhaps going for someone such as J.J. McCarthy, the Giants should use their No. 6 pick this year on a wide receiver to give Jones some help, per NFL Total Access.

In his five NFL seasons, Jones’ numbers haven’t been impressive at all, and his 2023 campaign was cut short by a torn ACL he suffered in Week 8.

Some may make the argument that Jones’ numbers have been weak because he hasn’t really played with a top-notch wide receiver in his five pro seasons, all of which have been spent in New York.

If New York does go with a wideout at No. 6, they could end up selecting someone who can make multiple Pro Bowls in the years to come.

In fact, there is even a chance they could take Marvin Harrison Jr., whom many consider to be the best player at that position in this year’s crop.

If not, the Giants could still select someone such as Rome Odunze or Malik Nabers, both of whom have plenty of potential.

Last season, their most productive wideout was Darius Slayton, who had a modest 770 yards and four touchdowns.
