Our Favorite Sunscreens – Living in Yellow

HEY THERE, SUNSHINE! We love a good day in the great outdoors, but also want to keep our skin stay safe & covered while we are soaking it up! ☀️ With so many sunscreens on the market, we decided to share our go-to’s that we are slathering on from head to toe [by price point] to keep the good times rollin’ and the burns at bay!

p.s. did you know that it’s recommended to wear a face sunscreen daily even in the winter months? Sharing more favorite suncare products here!

Lip Oil Sunscreen

Just a few swipes of this gloss and your lips will be set! It is a true gloss/oil which I love to help make you feel little more put together around the pool!

Kopari Sheer Stick Sunscreen

Favorite stick sunscreen so far for face and body :sunny: This product is one of my favorites since it’s an easy application and it glides with minimal effort. And even better, it doesn’t leave a white cast or grease behind. But rather glowing skin.

When it comes to keeping my face protected from the sun, this illuminating serum is what I turn to! I love that it adds a glow to your face while protecting it with the SPF 30! It rubs in very easy and stays on for hours upon hours!

Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 40

It’s a true story, not all face sunscreens are winners… Let me shoot it straight, this is[what I’ve found to be] the best one! It’s lightweight, lightly tinted, perfect shine/glow after applied + protects you with a 40! It’s free from of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oil, silicone and talc; also free of fragrances! PS. a little goes a long way!

EltaMD UV Restore Tinted Face Sunscreen

When you’re looking for a daily use sunscreen, look no further than the EltaMD UV Restore Tinted Face Sunscreen. It’s a tinted moisturizer that does miracles for repairing aged skin! As a 35+ year old who spent too much time putting on baby oil in her teens, it’s time to do some reverse care! Nice and lightweight and can be worn alone or under makeup, and adds just the sliiiightest color coverage to your face

EltaMD UV Daily SPF 40

Tula Protect & Glow // Image Daily Defense Sunscreen

While trends may come and go, our skin is here forever, and taking care of it is essential. Here are my go-to SPFs when packing for a day at the beach or top down in the Jeep.

As I have gotten older, some melasma has popped up on my face. I love the Tula probiotic SPF 30, but I have switched over to wearing the Image MD 50 SPF moisturizer sometimes daily! I have seen an improvement with my skin tone using the higher grade of SPF.

La Roche-Posay Tinted Mineral Light Fluid Sunscreen

I love that this sunscreen has a slight tint to it and it feels like velvet on the skin!

Biossance Mineral Sunscreen

So many sunscreens have a thousand chemicals that I don’t feel good about putting on my body, so I was so happy to find this one! Sunscreen is not only important to apply on those pool days but everyday! You can layer makeup on top of this one with no pilling or issues.

Hair Sunscreen // Coverup

Because nobody likes a burnt scalp. Just a few sprays of this along my hairline and it protects my scalp, all while making it smell great! I have thick hair so it doesn’t make it greasy at all, however, if you have fine thin hair you will want to be careful with that!

aiHr Hairspray Sunscreen

I like to protect my hair too when I’m outside. I color my hair and this has a color protectant and sunscreen. Smells great and has great hold too but not sticky or stiff. I’m an 80s girl and have to have my hairspray! This one is my favorite!

Supergoop! Poof Powder Scalp SPF

My hair part is extremely sensitive to the sun! It burns easily and then typically flakes off [not a cute look, friends]. I love this SPF powder for protecting my scalp from burns! Simply spray it on anywhere exposed to the sun and massage in – similar to dry shampoo!

Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Hydration Clear Sunscreen

Staying true to my roots and loving this Hawaiian tropic SPF 15 sunscreen.  I reapply every other hour if having direct sun exposure.  It’s not greasy, helps keep skin moisturized, and melts into my my skin without ever any streak marks.

Sun Bum Spray // Stick // Lotion // Bag

I switched to these mineral sunscreens about a year ago for my kiddos, and love that they go on clear [no white residue], and are more lightweight! I feel like Sun Bum keeps their skin from getting burnt, and is an affordable price point where I’m not going broke applying it every day, all summer long!

SunBum Lotion // BabyBum // SPF 30 Lip Balm // Cool Down Aloe Lotion

Bare Republic Mineral Spray

Heather here with my go to sunscreen! After multiple melanoma diagnoses I’m very passionate about using sunscreen and known as the sunscreen police in my house. You can grab this mineral sunscreen at Target. It’s a spray that rubs in easily and doesn’t leave the white cast like a lot of mineral sunscreens I’ve used. Added bonus is it smells great!

Colorscience Brush On Sunscreen Mineral Powder

A girlfriend of mine gave me a container of this Colorscience Mineral Powder and I loved it! It’s a powder applicator which means easy to apply on yourself and even easier to apply on your kids [moms- you know what I mean!]. The cherry on top is that it’s made with clean ingredients! It’s definitely on the pricier end, so I don’t blame you if you just keep it to yourself 😉
