Analyst Names The ‘Spot To Watch’ For Bill Belichick

The New England Patriots have officially moved on from Bill Belichick, appointing his heir apparent Jerod Mayo as his successor.

Now, all eyes are set on the legendary coach and the next step in his career.

Belichick is close to breaking Don Shula’s record for the most wins of all time, so retirement might not be an option, not even at 71 years old.

Then again, he’s not going to be coaching for the next decade either, so it only makes sense that he joins a team with some sort of foundation set in place already, somewhere he could reach that record in a couple of years.

With that in mind, Dan Graziano of ESPN reported on Get Up that people close to the situation believe the Atlanta Falcons are Belichick’s most likely destination.

“It seems like most people that watch these situations closely say Atlanta is the spot to watch for him,” Graziano said.

This makes perfect sense, as the Falcons already have a decent roster and play in arguably the weakest division in football, so they could at least get seven or eight wins per season.

On top of that, the Falcons aren’t a rebuilding team; they’re looking to compete right away, and they’re the kind of team that could give Belichick strong input in decision-making.

Of course, the Falcons still need to figure out their quarterback situation.

For now, we’ll just have to keep an eye on this situation, but it seems like the Falcons could be some heavy hitters this offseason.
