The Boston Celtics have the Big 4 of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jrue Holiday doing the job for them in most of the games.
However, in awe of the talented Big 4, the contributions of Derrick White to the team’s success often go overlooked in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Speaking of White, he recently returned to play against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs.
Instead of getting booed by the crowd, White received All-Star chants from the crowd in San Antonio, and the Celtics star shared his reaction to them via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston on Twitter.

“I think if I were to make the All-Star game, it’s because of how much we’re winning and the type of team we have,” White said.

Derrick White has been averaging 17.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game for the Celtics this season.
He is also shooting a solid 49.1% from the field and 41.6% from the three-point line for the team.
As for his performance against his former team, White put up 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Spurs in the 134-101 win.
Although White is averaging good numbers, he is arguably still short of receiving the nod to become an NBA All-Star this season.
White is seemingly aware of it and had a humble response to receiving All-Star chants from the crowd in San Antonio.
The Celtics are undoubtedly playing at an elite level this season, as they are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 26-6 record.
