Dan Orlovsky Says 1 NFL Team Is Suddenly ‘Vulnerable’

There hasn’t been one unstoppable team through the first 13 weeks of the NFL.

Despite still possessing the best record in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles showed in Week 12 that they can be handed bad losses.

They were walloped by the San Francisco 49ers, 42-19, in a rematch of the 2022 NFC title game.

With that loss, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky said he believes the Eagles look more vulnerable than ever before and certainly don’t look like the team that was a holding penalty away from a Super Bowl win a year ago.

“They’re not the same team as last year,” Orlovsky told the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday. “They’re not nearly as dominant. They do not control games and dominate teams as much. They’re vulnerable because of this: While they were still winning, it was because teams were allowing them to stay in the game by their own self-inflicted wounds.”

Orlovsky went on to explain that the Eagles’ offensive line isn’t as dominant as it was last year, quarterback Jalen Hurts doesn’t run as much and the defense doesn’t have the depth in the secondary to play man coverage or at linebacker to play zone coverage.

That is quite the indictment for a 10-2 team that still holds the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

But it’s certainly not without merit.

Philadelphia has a +41 point differential this season, which is more than 100 points less than the 49ers (+163) and the Dallas Cowboys (+168).

This past season, the team had a +133 point differential.

Quite simply: The Eagles aren’t scoring as much and the defense isn’t holding opponents back as much.

That could be a recipe for disaster come playoff time.
