Insider Says AFC HC Has The ‘Hottest Seat’ In The NFL Now

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich after they managed to go just 1-10 under him so far this season.

It has begged the question of which NFL head coach could be the next one to get a pink slip from his team.

Out in Southern California, the Los Angeles Chargers are once again underachieving, and they suffered a painful 20-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in which they had some notable miscues.

Head coach Brandon Staley’s seat has grown even hotter, and insider Jordan Schultz says that unless the 4-7 Chargers make a miraculous turnaround for the rest of this season, Staley will be out as their head coach.

Staley, who is just 40 years of age, is in his third season at the helm of the Bolts.

During his tenure with them, they have suffered one heartbreaking defeat after another in big games, starting with their gut-wrenching Week 18 loss in 2021 to the Las Vegas Raiders with a playoff spot on the line.

Last year, they blew a 27-0 lead in the Wild Card round of the playoffs and lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a last-second field goal by Riley Patterson.

Los Angeles has the talent, at least when healthy, to be a legitimate playoff team and win at least one postseason game, and they have one of the NFL’s most physically gifted quarterbacks in Justin Herbert.

But coaching is that important, and the Spanos family, which owns the team, will have to open up their wallet and invest in a high-quality coach who will reverse the franchise’s fortunes.
