Joy Taylor Compares Victor Wembanyama To Prolific NBA Scorer

It has been only five games into Victor Wembanyama’s NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs, but it seems like everyone already knows that this kid from France is the next superstar in the making after what he did to Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.

Wembanyama has had his lackluster performances to start the season, which is to be expected, especially from a rookie who is used to playing a different style of play from overseas.

However, no one anticipated him having the kind of game he had against the Suns this week, as he played out of his mind against one of the best players in NBA history in Durant.

The 19-year-old finished with a career-high 38 points in a 20-point rout of the Suns, who are widely considered to be a legitimate NBA title contender this season with one of the most star-studded rosters in the league.

Wembanyama put on a show against the Suns and put the league on notice that he may not only be the next superstar, but he might already be playing at an extremely high level this early into his NBA career.

Joy Taylor of FOX Sports argues that Wembanyama may be a bigger version of Durant, which seems to be the case at this point, via “Speak” on FS1.

The craziest part of all of this is that Wembanyama still has 77 regular-season games to go, so we’ll more than likely see quite a bit more from the rookie as he rounds into shape as one of the best all-around players in the league.

Only time will tell if he can live up to the expectations he’s been given, but so far, he’s shown some remarkable promise to be an elite player in the NBA.
