On Sunday, the Miami Heat took down the Memphis Grizzlies in their latest preseason game.

Miami’s victory was the result of several stars but none were more important than Tyler Herro, who scored 30 points and 6 assists during his 30 minutes on the floor.

According to Ballislife, Herro spoke about the game and his plans for the season.

“This year is obviously – I wouldn’t call it revenge or bounce back – it’s just a year to be myself and just have fun doing what I love to do, which is play basketball,” Herro said after Sunday’s win.

Herro might claim that 2023-24 won’t be a “revenge” season but many people will see it that way.

Last year was undeniably complicated for Herro, with several highs and several lows too.

Statistically, he had a year unlike any other.

He averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

After years of being one of the best sixth men in the league, Herro started in all 67 games he played in.

However, things took a turn when he injured his hand at the start of the playoffs and was forced to miss the rest of the postseason.

Then, he became attached to just about every trade rumor revolving around Damian Lillard in the summer.

Ultimately, the Heat weren’t able to get Lillard and Herro remained in Miami.

Now there are plenty of fans expecting big things from Herro in the upcoming months, partly because of recent events.

This will be his chance to remind people what he is capable of and why the Heat are lucky to have him.

His 30-point game on Sunday might just be the start of a truly impressive season from Herro.
