The only reason the Golden State Warriors decided to keep Draymond Green, even if that meant giving up on Jordan Poole, is because the front office still has confidence in their championship core.

They’re not getting any younger, and they weren’t at their best last season.

However, it would be hard to choose any other team over them in a seven-game series when they’re at full strength, regardless of how talented other teams might be.

That’s why their confidence remains unwavering, as they feel like their championship window is still wide open.

When asked about that, Stephen Curry claimed that he absolutely believes the team has at least a couple more rings in them, but they’re going to start with one.

Notably, Curry also went as far as to say that they’re going to win that one championship this very same season (via Basketball on X).

Needless to say, the Warriors aren’t the team to beat right now.

That would be the defending champions Denver Nuggets, and one could also put the revamped Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, and Milwaukee Bucks one tier ahead of them.

Nonetheless, we’re talking about a team that’s been there and done that way too many times.

It took them seven years to lose their first playoff series to a Western Conference foe, and that doesn’t get talked about enough.

The Warriors still have that championship DNA, and even though they’re back to being hunters and not the hunted, you can never sleep on them until proven otherwise.
