The Los Angeles Lakers continue to make moves to get better for the future.

They just signed F Jarred Vanderbilt to a significant contract extension, which is no surprise, considering the way he played since arriving in Southern California.

The Klutch Sports player took to Twitter to celebrate and share some pics of himself signing that new contract, and Lakers nation was quite excited about it.

The Los Angeles Lakers were the second-best team in the NBA after the deadline, and Vanderbilt’s play obviously had to do a lot with that.

While his impact didn’t always reflect on the stat sheet, he’s the kind of versatile, Swiss Army knife kind of player all coaches would love to have on their team.

Vanderbilt’s long arms allow him to be quite disruptive in passing lanes and the ultimate switching nightmare.

He’s strong enough to hold his own in the post and match up with big men, and he’s fast enough to stay in front of quicker guards in the perimeter as well.

Vanderbilt is also an improving three-point shooter who proved that he can knock down shots from long range when need be.

He might not be the most proficient scorer at this point in his career, but with some minor tweaks to his shooting form, he could become one of the premier 3-and-D players in today’s game.

LeBron James isn’t getting any younger, and he needs as much help as he can get, so props to the Lakers for keeping the band together.
