After coming out on top on the road in the shootout with the Los Angeles Chargers, the Miami Dolphins showed that they are the real deal this season, with star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa ready to prove a lot of his doubters wrong.

In Week 2, the Dolphins have another tough challenge ahead of them, as they will go head-to-head against the division-rival New England Patriots, who gave the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles all they could handle last week.

Ahead of their showdown with the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night, Dolphins legend Dan Marino showed his support for his old team and embraced Tagovailoa via NBC Sports Boston.

During his time with the Dolphins, Marino always kept Miami competitive with one of the most prolific passing games in the league.

Even though Marino was never able to win a Super Bowl title, as he lost in the only appearance he made in the big game against Joe Montana’s San Francisco 49ers, he’s still widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Miami has never really been able to replace Marino, but Tagovailoa could become that heir-apparent if he can live up to expectations and get this offense clicking.

Last week against the Chargers, Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

This week, he’ll look to have another solid performance under center, and he might need it to get the best of Bill Belichick’s Patriots, as New England looks like a team that is better than expected this season.
