The New York Yankees have played themselves into a spot where they do not deserve to be in the playoffs.

Before the season, the Yankees were one team many thought could win the American League.

Instead, they find themself with a close to 0% chance to play in the postseason.

According to Codify, the Yankees have a 0.3% chance to make the playoffs.

New York has a record of 73-73 on the year.

They have 16 games left to play.

It seems like they will have to win at least 13 games the rest of the way to give themselves a chance.

That is where the 0.3% comes in.

No one thinks the Yankees are going to win 13 of the last 16.

Especially because they have had no substantial winning streaks this year.

One of the main reasons the Yankees’ season has derailed is due to injuries.

Aaron Judge has been on the injured list two times, and they have gotten essentially nothing out of starting pitcher Carlos Rodon.

It seems like every week a new player was getting injured for this team.

The only bright spot on their roster has been Gerrit Cole.

He is the heavy favorite to win the AL Cy Young Award.

That is something the Yankees hoped he would win when they agreed to sign him a few years ago.

That 0.3% will most likely turn into zero over the next week.

For now, Yankees fans can believe they still have a chance.
