The Portland Trail Blazers are heading into the 2023-24 season with an uncomfortable situation as they weigh whether or not to honor Damian Lillard’s trade request.
After years of sticking with the franchise, Lillard has finally asked out after yet another disappointing season with the Trail Blazers.
Lillard has been adamant about making his way to the Miami Heat to team up with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo and while the two teams have had extensive trade negotiations they have yet to strike a deal.
With a little over a month until the start of training camp, it appears that Portland is content with allowing the situation to simmer until Miami or another team steps up their offer.
Lillard has been quiet about his situation though he left a subtle hint about his offseason plans on his Instagram account via Heat Nation.

Social media has made it easier for fans to dive in and find clues about their favorite players’ next move and it appears that Lillard reinforced the idea that it’s Miami or bust.
The Trail Blazers need to do the best for themselves and find the best possible offer for Lillard even though he expressed his clear landing spot.
It’s a tough position to be in for Portland considering what Lillard has meant and done for their organization, but NBA teams have to operate in the best interest of their future.
For now, it continues to be a wait-and-see situation though it still feels like Lillard will end up in South Beach.
