Dalvin Cook’s destination has been of the biggest offseason stories for the NFL.

After he was cut by the Minnesota Vikings, fans across the league predicted his possible landing spot.

One of the most-rumored teams was the New York Jets, who are said to need a Breece Hall replacement.

Hall tore his ACL during his rookie year in 2022, and his timeline to return to play is widely unknown.

The talks of Cook to the Jets have cooled lately, leaving many fans to wonder if the team is still interested.

In a recent conversation with reporter Paul Andrew Esden Jr., Michael Carter spoke out regarding this situation.

“Nothing but respect for 4, but we aren’t really focused on that,” Carter said.

It appears that, while Cook might be a welcomed member of the roster, Carter believes that the team will be fine without him.

Hall is expected to play at some point during the season.

The team believes they’ll be able to manage until then, not seeing a need to sign Cook.

Israel Abanikanda has established himself as a viable option, both as a receiver and as a rusher.

He scored in the Jets’ first preseason game and was a large part of their game two victory as well.

If he continues on that trajectory, Abanikanda could see meaningful regular season minutes.

Carter will continue to work for his place on the roster.

Cook joining the team could mean a diminished role for him, and perhaps be an indication that he’s on the hot seat.

With less than a month to go until the regular season begins, the Jets’ plans will soon make themselves clear.
