The Atlanta Braves are once again proving to be a model of consistency as they continue to dominate the competition in the NL East.

With Wednesday’s 8-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians, they improved to 58-28 on the season.

That is the best record in all of baseball.

They have also won nine of their previous 10 games.

But as the All-Star break approaches, it’s looking more and more like the Braves are going to be a force to reckoned with come October.

Former Braves pitchers Tom Glavine and John Smoltz certainly think so, and even went as far as to say they believe Atlanta should be World Series favorites, per The Athletic.

Smoltz commented on the Braves and said that the only team he had seen like this was the 1984 Detroit Tigers.

That Tigers team defeated the San Diego Padres in five games in the World Series.

The team also began the regular season with a record of 35-5.

Atlanta wasn’t off to that hot of a start, but this is still a team that looks dangerous as we move closer to the second half of the 2023 season.

The Braves have a strong pitching staff which features Spencer Strider, Charlie Morton, Kyle Wright, and Max Fried.

Their lineup also features Matt Olson, Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris II, Sean Murphy, and Austin Riley.

Atlanta won its most recent World Series title in 2021, when they defeated the Houston Astros in six games.

Two years later, their roster is loaded with more talent, so much so that Glavine and Smoltz think they should be favored to win another title.
