A new era is officially underway for the Houston Texans.

Following a couple of tough seasons and plenty of criticism from former players, it seems like the fans are starting to believe in their project again.

DeMeco Ryans’ arrival in Houston has been a catalyst for hope, up to the point where they’ve already sold more than 3,000 season tickets ahead of next season.

Of course, they’ll still need to prove how much they’ve improved on the field, and that will eventually be the actual way of measuring success, but it’s evident that there’s plenty of confidence in the organization now.

“We know we’ve got to win,” team owner Cal McNair said during the league meetings in Arizona.

The Texans have gone 11-38-1 in their past three seasons with Bill O’Brien, David Culley, and Lovie Smith at the helm.

They’re looking to get past that after re-signing superstar Laremy Tunsil while also adding Devin Singletary, Denzel Perryman, Cory Littleton, Shaq Mason, Sheldon Rankins, Robert Woods, Jimmie Ward, and Dalton Schultz.

They also hold the No. 2 and No. 12 overall picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, so there’s a strong chance they finally put an end to their woes at the QB position with either C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young.

More than that, they want to do right by the fans after years of struggles, which is why they’ve formed a 50-person Fan Council to give the people a platform to speak up and share their thoughts on the status of the franchise.

Attendance was quite low at NRG Stadium over the past couple of years, so selling that many season tickets in no time is definitely encouraging:

Now, it’ll be up to them to show that they can compete at the highest level, but it’s nice to see that the fans are back on board.
