Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, is having a nice senior year of high school, and it seems like his stock is rising.
He has already received several offers from prominent colleges, and there has been lots of speculation on where he could be drafted once he becomes eligible for the NBA draft in 2024.
Some have said that he’s a solid prospect, but nothing special, and some have even speculated that he could end up going undrafted.
But ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said this week that the younger James’ improvement this year has been “terrific” and that his physical development the last three years has been “breathtaking,” and he sounds confident the 18-year-old will earn his way into being drafted, perhaps in the first round.
Some have wondered if the younger James is really that promising a prospect, or if he has mostly been benefiting from the fact that he’s the son of one of the greatest players of all time.
He stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs about 180 pounds, and he has been described as a combo guard who has a fluid game and a nice feel for what’s happening on the court.
His improved defense and outside shooting have also been lauded by scouts.
The elder James has made it clear that he would love to play with his son in the NBA, preferably on the same team, and if his son ends up being a first-round draft choice, making that happen may be difficult to pull off.
The four-time MVP also has a 15-year-old son named Bryce, who is only 15 years of age but stands about 6-foot-6, and he has been described as a player who is more reminiscent of his father than Bronny James is.
