Stephen A. Smith Says It’s Clear What QB Has Had The Best Postseason Run

Well, the moment all NFL fans have been waiting for is finally here: Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in Glendale, Arizona, for the Super Bowl.

Not every year do the two best teams in the league actually make it this far, and there’s no denying that it was the case this season.

But more than that, the game will also feature two bonafide superstars and the top two leading MVP candidates of the year: Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts.

That’s why Stephen A. Smith and the First Take crew debated who has been the best player in the postseason, with Smith claiming that — as impressive and valuable Hurts has been this season — there’s absolutely no question or debate, and Mahomes has been much better.

“Patrick Mahomes has been heroic, he’s been Herculean, he’s been exceptional, and he’s done it without Tyreek Hill,” Smith started. “When you look at that combined with his questionable health, there is no question that Patrick Mahomes has had the more impressive run, particularly this postseason.”

Well, Smith has a valid point right there.

Not only did Pat lose one of the best wideouts in the game, but he still managed to reach the AFC Championship Game while boasting the no. 1 offense in the game.

He also managed to get past a juggernaut like the Cincinnati Bengals while being visibly limited by a high ankle injury, all by posting better numbers than Jalen Hurts in both games combined.

Of course, there should be no shame in being no.2 to Patrick Mahomes’ no. 1, as the Texas Tech product has been the most spectacular and dominant force in the league since taking over as a starter.

But then again, it will all go down to one stat, which is the final score, so Jalen Hurts might be keeping notes to try and silence yet another doubter come February 12.
