United States’s food industry IT recruitment activity drops 9.0% in November 2022


The US’s food industry registered a 9.0% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 38.04% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.7% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.42% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 30% in November 2022, registering a 26.47% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.6% share, an increase of 13.11% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 18%, registering a 44.44% decline from October 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 12.4%, down 24.39% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 7.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

J. R. Simplot posted 62 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 16.22% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 47 jobs and a 370% growth. Rich Products with 25 IT jobs and Bunge with 24 jobs, recorded a 21.88% decline and a 25% decrease, respectively, while Performance Food Group recorded an increase of 12.5% with 9 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.4%, down by 33.18% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.2% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 18.8% share, down 4.08% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 5.6%, recording a month-on-month decline of 36.36%.
