The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets faced off on Sunday, in a competition of two teams who are playing far worse than they should be.

Of course, the Lakers are the worst team in the matchup, heading into Sunday night with a painful 2-10 record.

But the Nets also came into Sunday with a 6-7 record, which isn’t remotely close to where they want to be either.

In the end, the Lakers were able to secure a win with an impressive showing from multiple stars, including Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook once again felt right at home coming off the bench and did what his team needed of him.

That included one viral moment in which he defended Kevin Durant and actually blocked his old teammate from behind with a smooth, incredible swipe.

Westbrook knows Durant well and would later say that he has pulled this move on him a hundred times.

But it looked extra special for Lakers fans on Sunday.

Signs Of Life

It was a good night for the Lakers, which isn’t said that often.

LeBron James was on the bench but the team was still able to get a commanding 116-103 win.

They felt in control all night, even during their dreaded third quarter, and Westbrook was a big part of that.

The former MVP was good for 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 12 assists – giving him another double-double and showing fans yet again that he’s not ready to be counted out.

LA looked in fine form on Sunday but the fear is that they will again slip back into old habits in just a few days.

The team still has so many problems to work out that fans can’t get too excited after a win, even a good one.
