Sidney Crosby returning to Halifax for Penguins-Senators pre-season game

Sidney Crosby is set to play a pre-season NHL game in his home province of Nova Scotia for the first time ever when the Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the Ottawa Senators in Halifax on Oct. 2.

The “Nova Scotia Showdown” will take place at the Scotiabank Centre, home of the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads. Tickets go on sale to the general public on July 18, with a limited amount of pre-sale tickets available the day prior for Mooseheads season ticket holders.

Crosby, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, hails from nearby Cole Harbour, N.S. In 2018, he was voted the province’s greatest athlete of all-time.

The Senators are also scheduled to play a pre-season game against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 1 in Sydney, N.S.
