One of the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ top prospects is going to get another chance to prove he belongs in the NHL.

Minten, 20, has two goals and two assists in five games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies this season.

Minten sustained a high-ankle sprain during a Prospect Showdown game against the Montreal Canadiens before training camp after a check from David Reinbacher.

He returned to the ice midway through October, skating with the team’s development staff ahead of an optional practice.

The 20-year-old from Vancouver was drafted in the second round, 38th overall, by the Maple Leafs in 2022.

He played four games with the Maple Leafs last season before he was returned to the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League.

Minten recorded 19 goals and 38 points in 36 games during the regular season with Saskatoon, plus eight goals and 14 points in 16 playoff games.

He also represented Canada at the world junior championship and had one goal and three points in five games.

Kampf has three assists in 18 games this season.
