The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in five games to win their eighth World Series title in franchise history.
With all of the star power on the Dodgers’ roster, only one player could win the World Series Most Valuable Player award.
Freddie Freeman was named the World Series MVP after hitting four home runs in the five games he played in the series.
At the World Series parade in Los Angeles following the Dodgers victory, Shohei Ohtani was seen with his dog Decoy.
According to MLB on ‘X,’ Freeman added a new pet of his own following the World Series win as he adopted a cat and named him Champ.

Freeman had an incredible performance in the World Series as he had six hits in 20 at-bats with four home runs, one triple, 12 RBIs, five runs scored, and a 1.364 OPS.
This performance made him a no-brainer to win the World Series MVP award, and he followed up the series win by adopting a cat and naming him Champ.
Freeman chose a fitting name for his new furry friend, and he will join Ohtani’s dog Decoy as the Dodgers’ famous pets.
In the postseason run, Freeman batted .250 with four home runs, 13 RBIs, and a .810 OPS in 13 games played.
Freeman missed a couple of games during the playoffs due to an ankle injury, but that didn’t stop him from putting the team on his back in the World Series.
Although the Dodgers have eight championships in franchise history, they have never won back-to-back titles.
