It’s very early to make concrete predictions about the 2025 NFL Draft, but one intriguing quarterback who is expected to be available is Cam Ward from the University of Miami.
Though he likely isn’t the top QB prospect for 2025, he does have some intriguing abilities, including a very strong arm.
Former NFL executive Louis Riddick, who was the director of pro personnel for the then-Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles, raved on social media about a couple of passes Ward made in his recent game against Virginia Tech.
Two back to back #NFL throws from Cam Ward.
Man is special.

NFL draft analyst Jaime Eisner expressed a similar sentiment.
2 NFL-caliber throws on that TD drive for Cam Ward. A top-3 QB in the 2025 NFL Draft class for me. Not sure where in that Top 3 yet. https://t.co/SfZMCjO1Vd

Ward transferred to Miami after two seasons at Washington State University, where he had more than 3,200 passing yards and 23 TD passes in each of his two years.
Coming into this game, he led NCAA FBS football with 14 touchdown passes and the Atlantic Coast Conference with 1,439 passing yards, an average of almost 360 yards per game.
He is thought to be a little too mistake-prone, and at 6-foot-2 perhaps doesn’t have the ideal height to succeed as an NFL signal-caller.
As usual, there are a few NFL teams that desperately need a competent quarterback to get them to the next level, and if Ward goes in the middle of the first round of the 2025 draft, a squad such as the Las Vegas Raiders could end up with him.
