The San Francisco 49ers’ unexpected 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams sent shockwaves through the NFL community.

Wright also raised eyebrows by suggesting that Steve Wilks, the former 49ers defensive coach fired after their Super Bowl LVIII loss, may have been unfairly scapegoated.
The analyst’s scathing assessment continued as he quipped that the current 49ers defense “just let Matt Stafford and the kids who live on his block beat em.”
Indeed, the 49ers’ defense struggled mightily in Week 3.
They allowed the Rams to rack up 27 points, including a game-winning field goal.
The lack of pressure on Stafford was glaring, as he completed 16 of 25 passes for 221 yards without throwing an interception.
This defensive collapse was particularly disappointing given the absence of Rams’ star receiver Cooper Kupp.
Communication breakdowns in the secondary led to big plays for the Rams, further exposing the 49ers’ defensive vulnerabilities.
