The Boston Celtics are motivated to play hard and win it all again in the 2024-25 season.

Some are inspired by their success last season, while others are fired up so they can prove doubters wrong.

As for Al Horford, he is upset by the recent Paris Olympics and is using that as motivation.

Speaking with Ramona Shelburne, Horford opened up about it all.

“I was not happy about it,” Horford said when talking about Jayson Tatum’s lack of playing time with Team USA as well as Jaylen Brown’s snub.

“Those guys, they’re very special to me. Even though it was nothing against me, it motivated me and all of us for this season,” he added.

Legions of Celtics fans were upset when Team USA didn’t select Brown to replace Kawhi Leonard weeks before the Olympics.

It didn’t matter that the team chose fellow Celtics star Derrick White, people were still upset.

It also didn’t matter that Jrue Holiday was also on the team, meaning several Celtics players were heading to Paris.

Things were made even worse when Tatum didn’t get a lot of time on the court during the big games.

That controversial decision by Steve Kerr is still being talked about months later and this won’t be the last time it’s brought up.

Instead of just letting that get under his skin, Horford is using all of this to drive his determination in 2024-25.

A lot of people have wondered how Tatum, Brown, and the rest of the Celtics will respond to the very busy and wild summer they had.

In a matter of weeks, everyone will be able to see how they enter 2024-25.
