Excitement is building around the New York Jets, and expectations are running high because of their headline-making quarterback and the strong cast around Aaron Rodgers on both sides of the football.

They have a nice mix of established veterans and younger stars, and thus some really think they can seriously challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl.

While Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams give the Jets a very strong duo at the wide receiver position, they’re also hoping third-round draft pick Malachi Corley will contribute and develop into a good player.

Former Jets wideout Quincy Enunwa recently told podcast host Jake Asman that Corley reminds him of himself because of his physicality and toughness.

“You watch his film, he’s a monster,” Enunwa said, via Paul Andrew Esden Jr. “He’s hard to bring down but he’s also really tenacious. He doesn’t want to go down. He looks for contact and he tries to punish people.”

Enunwa also suggested to Corley that he focus on mastering the small things because he likely won’t be called on to play a large role in New York’s offense this season.

Though Western Kentucky University initially recruited Corley to play cornerback, it quickly reassigned him to wide receiver.

In 2022, his second full season, he had 101 catches for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 games, and last season, he hauled in 79 catches for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 contests.

Corley isn’t exceptionally fast, and he stands at a relatively modest 5-foot-11, but at 215 pounds, he does have some power to him that he can use to his advantage.
