The Kansas City Chiefs needed some speed.

So, what did they do?

They drafted the fastest wide receiver in NFL Scouting Combine history.

Xavier Worthy could be a massive addition to Andy Reid’s offense, and with Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown likely to miss some time to start the season, he could be poised for a big role right out of the gate.

With that in mind, his mother shared a heartfelt video ahead of his first game as a pro.

She shared the clip on social media, and it featured some of his highlights from high school and college, with her doing a voiceover with an open letter to him.

There, she talked about how he set his own standard for excellence and how proud she was of him after watching all the sacrifices he’s made and the hard work he’s put in to get to this point.

She also talked about how she knows he deserves all the blessings that are about to come his way in the NFL.

Worthy has the potential to be yet another one of Mahomes’ incredible weapons, and he could give the Chiefs the deep-ball threat they’ve lacked since they traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

Of course, there will always be some concerns about his size or lack thereof, but he’s got secure hands and, apparently, a flawless work ethic.

Not many people get an opportunity to enter the league in such a privileged position, and it’ll now be up to him to make the most of this opportunity.
