The San Antonio Spurs will be must-watch television next season.
Gregg Popovich’s team added Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes to get Victor Wembanyama a couple of veterans to mentor him, but they may have also given them the sidekick he needed to dominate for years to come.
Stephon Castle continues his impressive offseason, and judging by his Summer League performances, the fans might be in for a treat next season.
As shown by the NBA on Twitter, the No. 4 pick was quite impressive in his latest game in Las Vegas, scoring 22 points with a couple of three-pointers, four assists, and five rebounds.

Of course, Summer League is pretty much meaningless, so perhaps we shouldn’t get too carried away with the numbers.
Nonetheless, there are some indicators of potential future success, and Castle has excelled in the areas scouts were concerned about.
For starters, the fact that he actually knocked down a couple of triples was huge, as he’s been deemed to be a non-shooter.
If he starts taking and making threes, that should open up a whole new dimension of his offensive game, as that’s pretty much his only flaw at this point in his development.
The Spurs will most likely deploy him at the two, but he’s a willing and savvy passer, and getting to learn the game from a guy like Chris Paul should do wonders for both his playmaking and basketball IQ.
This team might not be ready to make the playoffs right now, but they’ll be significantly better.
