The New York Jets were filled with excitement and anticipation last offseason when the team made a blockbuster trade to land Aaron Rodgers to be their new starting quarterback.

Rodgers showed he had plenty left in the tank during his final years with the Green Bay Packers and was considered the final piece to get the Jets back to playoff contention.

However, all that excitement died in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season after Rodgers tore his Achilles on the team’s first series.

The two-time NFL MVP was forced to miss the remainder of the season despite reports that he was pushing to make a comeback before the end of the regular season.

Despite the dispiriting end to his first season in New York, Rodgers is expected to be fully healthy once the 2024 NFL season rolls around.

In the meantime, Rodgers was seen at Churchill Downs taking in the festivities with former Packers teammate Davante Adams, via TMZ.

Rodgers and Adams were good friends in Green Bay and the two have obviously stayed in touch as they reunited off the field in Louisville to take in some of the sights and sounds on the racetrack.

It’s always fun to see athletes out and about enjoying themselves, and it looked like both Rodgers and Adams had a blast catching up.

The two haven’t ruled out reuniting in New York, though for now Adams seems entrenched with the Las Vegas Raiders while Rodgers will look to compete with the pieces he has on hand.
