With only a few days left before the start of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday, the Chicago Bears will almost certainly select quarterback Caleb Williams out of the University of Southern California with the No. 1 overall pick.

Although the Bears’ pick at the top of the draft seems to be set in stone at this point in time, the speculation continues about who the Washington Commanders will choose at No. 2 overall, with it seemingly coming down to Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye.

Maye and Daniels seem to be neck-and-neck among draft experts in terms of which player is the best quarterback prospect in the draft, but Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network claims that the LSU product will be the choice for Washington on draft day, via Around The NFL.

“In talking to coaches and executives around the league, they’re like overwhelmingly convinced around the league that this is Jayden Daniels, that this is going to be the pick there at No. 2,” Jeremiah said.

Given how crazy draft day can get, anything between now and April 25 might change the way the Commanders view Maye and Daniels.

There’s been a lot of trade chatter and different opinions on seemingly a daily basis, which could change things in the days leading up to the draft, making things interesting from here on out.

Only time will tell which of these two quarterbacks are the better player on the NFL level, but Washington is bound to get a solid player whomever they draft at No. 2.
