The Los Angeles Lakers will meet their nemesis again, this time in the first round of the playoffs.

Some analysts thought they would’ve been better off tanking their matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans to try and face off with the Oklahoma City Thunder instead of the Denver Nuggets.

Of course, there was no way they were going to send that message, so they competed hard and now, as a reward, they’ll face the reigning champions.

That’s why sports analyst Craig Carton thinks their season is over.

In the latest edition of The Carton Show, he reminded us how the media tried to make it seem like the Lakers had finally figured the Nuggets out just to watch the team lose over and over again.

The Nuggets have beaten them eight straight games dating back to a four-game sweep in the Western Conference Finals, and they’ve gotten the best of them nine out of eleven times.

The gap between Mike Malone and Darvin Ham is wide, and even though the Lakers have managed to stay competitive and make it close games against them, they don’t seem to have what it takes to get past them.

Some teams match up better than others, and the Nuggets are clearly tailor-made to counter the Lakers’ strengths.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the mainstream media continues to stir the pot by talking just about the Lakers or if they finally give the reigning champions credit where it’s due.
