The San Antonio Spurs will finish the 2023-24 NBA season with one of the worst records in the league, but the franchise is in excellent shape moving forward because of the rapid development of Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama somehow managed to exceed expectations after all the hype and attention he got the previous offseason before he was selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The France native had a relatively underwhelming start in the Las Vegas Summer League which dulled some of the excitement, but he quickly shut down any sort of doubt once the regular season began.

With a unique blend of size, length, skill, and basketball IQ, Wembanyama quickly transformed into a two-way force for the Spurs and is the biggest reason why the organization should be back to competing for titles in no time.

Wembanyama is a lock to win Rookie of the Year and for good reason as he has been stuffing the box score all year.

The rising superstar just completed one of the best rookie seasons of all time as he set a milestone in three categories via ClutchPoints.

“Victor Wembanyama has become the first player in NBA history to record: 1500+ PTS 250+ BLK 100+ 3PM In the same season.”

Not only can Wembanyama score all over the floor, but he is a terror in the painted area and erases shots that no one else can.

His ability to shoot from the outside and defend an entire team makes him a true unicorn in the NBA and there’s legitimately no telling how much better he’ll get going forward.
