The Patriots are set to take a quarterback with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft later this month.

Will New England use one of the team’s later picks on wide receiver prospect Ladd McConkey, giving their future signal-caller a talented target to throw to?

On Monday, @LosTalksPats’ Twitter feed shared a video clip from “The Patriots Report” podcast with Boston Globe writer Christopher Price talking with NFL prospect Ladd McConkey about his impression of the Patriots organization.

“You know, meeting with them, I feel like it was solid every single time,” McConkey said of his multiple meetings.

The former Georgia wide receiver praised both New England’s front office and coaches in the clip, adding that the team wanted nothing but the best for the prospect.

On the podcast, he later revealed what the Patriots personnel did during his meeting.

McConkey told a story of how one of the scouts would discuss in detail one of New England’s plays before showing film to McConkey of himself in action.

Later, the scout would test McConkey’s memory of the Patriots’ play the scout discussed previously to see if the NFL prospect could remember the original play discussed.

At Georgia, McConkey won two national titles in his three-year playing career.

In 2023, McConkey’s season was shortened due to an injury.

Still, he finished with 30 receptions for 478 yards and two touchdown in seven games.
