After an incredible first season in the NFL for star quarterback C.J. Stroud, the Houston Texans appear confident enough in their franchise player under center that they’ve done everything within their power this NFL offseason to surround him with the talent needed to compete for a Super Bowl next season and beyond.
As if the Texans hadn’t already made enough solid moves by bringing in running back Joe Mixon and linebacker Danielle Hunter, Houston acquired star wide receiver Stefon Diggs in a trade with the Buffalo Bills earlier this week.
The move was unexpected but may turn out to be a brilliant addition to an already talented offense that showcases Stroud, Tank Dell, Robert Woods, Dalton Schultz, and Nico Collins.
With Diggs becoming the next big star in town along with Stroud, the veteran wide receiver has decided to make a change as he begins his next stint in the NFL by changing his jersey number to No. 1, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

With four-straight Pro Bowl nods, Diggs is still considered to be one of the best wide receivers in the game today and will be a welcome addition to an offense that might compete for being the best in the NFL next season.
It’ll be interesting to see if all these aggressive moves by the Texans pan out for the Houston franchise, but one thing is for sure, the team is going all-in and is giving Stroud all the tools to win and win now.
