Mack Brown Says 1 QB Prospect Has ‘Super Bowl Written All Over Him’

The University of North Carolina is not known for football, but the iconic school is known for what it has accomplished on the basketball court, with a lot of great NBA players coming through their program, like Michael Jordan, James Worthy, and Vince Carter, to name a few.

However, quarterback Drake Maye, who is expected to be taken early in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, has helped put the Tar Heels back on the map in the football landscape after two solid seasons as the team’s starter under center.

One person who has been Maye’s biggest supporter throughout his time playing in the college game has been North Carolina head coach Mack Brown.

Brown has seen his fair share of talented quarterbacks during his time as a head coach on the college level and had nothing but high praise for his former starting quarterback during North Carolina’s Pro Day via ACC Network.

“He’s got Super Bowl written all over him at some point out there, and that’s why all these people are out here watching him,” Brown said.

Although Maye hasn’t gotten the same buzz as Caleb Williams out of the University of Southern California, he’s done enough to be seriously considered for the second pick in the NFL Draft next month.

All signs have pointed to the Chicago Bears taking Williams at No. 1 overall, but Maye might be off the board at No. 2, with the quarterback-needy Washington Commanders on the clock at that selection.

J.J. McCarthy and Jayden Daniels could still rise to No. 2, but the safe bet right now is that Maye is headed to the nation’s capital.
