The Detroit Lions were among the most surprising teams in the NFL last season.

After years of frustration and heartbreak, the Lions found themselves in the NFC Championship, one game away from reaching the Super Bowl.

Making it to this game was a step in the right direction for the Lions, and it gave them confidence that they can perform well in 2024 and beyond.

However, no team is perfect, and they have spent the offseason filling in some of the cracks on their roster.

NFL analyst Jordan Reid recently indicated that he is a big fan of the Lions’ moves to this point in the offseason.

He called out the additions of Carlton Davis, DJ Reader, and Kevin Zeitler, indicating that these players filled the team’s most pressing needs.

With this in mind, Reid said that the Lions can take the best player available in the draft rather than trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

The Lions succeeded in 2023 by attacking teams on offense and having a serviceable defense to keep them in games.

Will they find a way to get to the next level in 2024, seeing how well they played last year?

That remains to be seen.

The Green Bay Packers have improved significantly throughout the offseason, which could hurt the Lions’ chances of repeating their play from last season.

Plus, the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings will have new starting quarterbacks to begin the year, which could also throw a wrench into their plans.
