Being someone who performs well in clutch moments is a very important part of playing in the NBA.

Many times, it is the difference between a team walking away with a victory or a loss.

Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics has been having a great season and is in the conversation to possibly win MVP for the first time.

But ClutchPoints highlighted the fact that Tatum has not been doing well during clutch moments.

This season, he has put up 59 points in clutch time, going 15-of-47 from the field, 5-of-16 from beyond the three-point line, and 24-of-30 from the free-throw line.

Clutch time is considered the last five minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime when the score is within five points.

It is when the leaders of a team are supposed to surge forward and guide the rest of their squad to success.

But there is obviously an added amount of pressure that comes during clutch time and some people don’t do well because of it.

As the weight of the team lies on a player’s shoulders, they can start to fall apart.

There is no doubt that Tatum is an incredibly talented young star.

This season, he is recording 26.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

He is arguably the best player on the best team in the NBA and has earned all speculation about possibly being MVP.

With that being said, he isn’t perfect and there is room for improvement.

These numbers show that he could easily get better when it comes to playing well during clutch time.

If he can enhance this aspect of his game, it’ll come in handy for the rest of the regular season and definitely when the competition heats up in the playoffs.
