Analyst Says Russell Wilson Trade Is ‘Worst Of All Time’

With the Russell Wilson era of the Denver Broncos officially over after two disappointing seasons in the Mile High City, analysts and fans are starting to chime in with their opinions about whether this trade with the Seattle Seahawks is the worst deal in the history of the league.

Two years ago, the Broncos felt it was time to upgrade the quarterback position, but the team was unable to find Peyton Manning’s successor under center, as it was a revolving door of disappointing quarterbacks in Denver.

That convinced the team’s brass to make a deal with the Seahawks for a proven superstar in Wilson, and as a result, the team gave up a ton of players and draft assets, which at the team seemed like a calculated risk.

Unfortunately, the Wilson trade turned out to be a disaster, with the Broncos regretting the move after one season but keeping him around for another year after bringing in head coach Sean Payton to help right the ship.

Even though Payton seems to have the Broncos headed in the right direction, it’s not because of Wilson’s play, so the team decided to part ways with him, which was the announcement made by the team on Monday.

According to Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, this trade is the worst deal in NFL history.

“It is the worst trade of all time,” Prisco said. “And it’s not even close.”

With Wilson set to be released, he will have no shortage of suitors once he’s officially a free agent, but his time in Denver is forgettable, to say the least.

The Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Minnesota Vikings are expected to be among the teams to show interest in Wilson.
