The Dallas Cowboys are going to need to find ways to supplement the roster in the offseason given all their needs.

After a disappointing 2023 NFL season that saw them get bounced at home during the Wild Card round, Dallas has to address several needs on the team.

Offensive line has been the Cowboys’ biggest strength in recent years, but injuries have forced their hand to reconsider their options.

Defensively, Dallas was one of the best units in the league but have several key members of their defense set to hit free agency.

Offensively, the team is mostly set though the backfield is a question mark because of Tony Pollard’s impending free agency.

Connor Livesay of The 33rd Team outlined how much help the Cowboys will need and how little draft capital they have to work with.

“The Cowboys are likely staring into a scenario where they are going to be heading into the draft needing a starting LT, OC, CB, LB, NT, and RB with only three picks in the top 160,” Livesay said.

The Cowboys only have five total picks in the upcoming draft, with their highest selections being No. 24, No. 58, and No. 87.

Dallas also has two seventh-round picks at No. 230 and No. 241.

The smart thing to do would be for the Cowboys to trade back a few times with their Day 1 and Day 2 draft capital to give them more swings at players.

As far as free agency goes, Dallas might need to let teams have the first go at players and they can hopefully find value signings in the proverbial second wave.
