Former Player Says East Team Can Be A Problem This Season

While the NBA’s Western Conference has always been deep and competitive, the Eastern Conference has become rough in its own right over the last few years.

The Boston Celtics are clearly the best team there and possibly in the entire league, but there are a bunch of other very strong teams in the East, and many are wondering which squad can best challenge the Celtics come playoff time.

Former NBA player Antonio Daniels said via SiriusXM NBA Radio that if the New York Knicks are healthy, they will be not only a problem but also the Celtics’ biggest threat in the East.

“The Knicks whole and healthy are a problem,” he said.

Daniels cited the trades the Knicks made this season that brought them 3-and-D wing OG Anunoby, sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic, and veteran Alec Burks, as well as the excellent play of Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart, as reasons why they’re so dangerous.

Anunoby and Bogdanovic have given them 3-point shooting, while DiVincenzo has been a great outside shooter and Hart is a winning player who will pull down many rebounds despite being just 6-foot-4.

Right now, New York is banged up and as a result they have lost seven of their last 10 games, but they still hold fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 35-24 record.

They’re just four games behind the second-place Cleveland Cavaliers, and perhaps moving up in the standings before the end of the regular season is an attainable goal for the Knicks.
