Flyers’ Drysdale exits game vs. Penguins with upper-body injury

Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Jamie Drysdale was forced the leave the game against the Penguins Sunday after taking a big hit from Jansen Harkins and suffering an apparent upper-body injury.

The hit occurred mid-way through the second period as Drysdale picked up the puck in the neutral zone. He would stay down on the ice and immediately head to the Flyers’ locker room.

The 21-year-old suffered a season-ending shoulder injury eight games into the 2022-23 season while he was still with the Anaheim Ducks. He was cleared to play on Sep. 7, 2023, at the outset of this season.

Drysdale was traded to the Flyers earlier this season for forward Cutter Gauthier. He has three goals and nine points in 26 games played this season.
